Boy/Girl Honor Choir Starts Soon!

Dear Middle School Parents and Students,

I want to again inform you this year we are offering honor choir to all students in 6th – 8th grade.  If your child chooses to participate, practices for honor choir will occur at Northwest High School during the dates listed below.  Students will be transported from each feeder school to Northwest High for practice; which runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Parents are then required to provide transportation home from Northwest High School.

To avoid potential conflicts with sports the following schedule has been set:

  •      Boys will practice from October 17 thru October 28.
  •      Girls will practice from January 9 thru January 20.
  •     Both boys and girls will practice from March 13 thru March 24.

Each of these sessions will culminate with a ‘performance’ at each feeder school on the dates listed below during school hours.  Students will be transported to these performances.

  •      Boys will perform on Friday, October 28.
  •      Girls will perform on Friday, January 20.
  •    Both boys and girls will perform together on Friday, March 24.

All students will depart from Northwest High School at 8:15 a.m. on the morning of each performance. Parents are required to get them there that morning. All students will end the day back at their home school.

Students will work with music teachers from all feeder schools, as well as students and staff from Northwest High School.  We feel this environment will further promote music in our school district and give our students opportunities to improve their music abilities with students who have similar interests!  Please have your son and/or daughter inform Mrs. Johnson if they are going to participate this year.  If you have questions about this or any other aspect of your child’s education, please contact me at St. Libory at 308-687-6475.

Sincerely,

Mike Herzberg

Principal
