Volunteer Opportunities This Fall
St. Francis Teen Volunteer Orientation this Saturday

St. Francis Medical Center will be hosting their TEEN VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION on Saturday, August 23, from 9 am to noon at the Medical Center in Rooms 3 and 4. Volunteer opportunities include assisting staff with patient escorting, activities in Skilled Care and other tasks, to helping with toddlers in daycare. Engleman PTO is looking for babysitters for their monthly meetings. The PTO generally meets the first Monday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00. Their next meeting will be Monday, September 8. If interested please contact Wendy Piercy at 382-0825.
The Red Cross is in need of assistance with answering the phone and doing computer work on a regular basis. Their office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. They also need help signing up donors for the bloodmobile, which is open until 6:30. Interested students can contact Chris Heusel at 382-3790. Please consider donating your time to this worthwhile organization.
Hope Harbor is in need of volunteers to assist in several areas:
- Tutoring--Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30. Volunteers will be working with children ages 5 to 17 years of age.
- Sorting through donations--best times are from 7 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday; however, arrangements can be made for groups of volunteers to come in on evenings or weekends if necessary.
- Cleaning the facility--assist with sprucing up either the interior or exterior.
- Collecting food for their pantry--the shelter is at maximum capacity right now and needs a lot of food to provide three meals a day for several families.
