Lunch Debit Authorization

New Program Offered by Northwest

If, in the morning rush while getting ready for school, you hear "Dad, I need lunch money" or after your child is at school, you get the following phone call "Mom will you bring my lunch money to school", or if you don't want to continually be writing checks for your student's lunches, we have a new option for you.

Beginning with the 2008-09 school year, we will be offering a program that allows you to make your monthly lunch payments via Debit Authorization through a local financial institution. On amonthly or semi-monthly basis, you can have your checking or savings account debited and thefunds directed to your child(rens) lunch account. The amount will be set by you and will be processed from your registration date through May 1, 2009. Payments will cease over the summer months and you will be able to re-register in July for the following school year. With this program we hope to provide each family with an easier, more efficient way to deposit funds into the student's lunch accounts.

An authorization form will need to be completed. We will need your account information, the amount of money to be deposited in the family lunch account and the date of the payment. One procedure allowsfor the payments to be madeon the 1st and the 15th of the month. The secondprocedure will be one payment on the 15th of the month. If these dates fall on a weekend or bank holiday, the debit to your account will be made on the following business day.The amount of the payment can be adjusted upon your request and completion of a new authorization form if during the year you determine this method of payment is not a positive experience for you, you may change your election at that time.

In order to determine the amount of your payments, the following information may be helpful.

Student Grades 6-12
Lunch $2.15 * 170 days = $365.50 / 9 months = $41.00 per month 

 

Student Grades K-5
Lunch $1.95 * 170 days = $331.50 /9 months = $37.00 per month

Any ala carte items or snack/extra milk purchased by your child will increase the amount of your monthly lunches. All money that is left in your family account in May will be carried over to the following school year. A refund will be issued upon your request.
