Band/Vocal Music Students Prepare for All-State

Seven individuals from Northwest High School have been selected to participate in the 2008 All-State Chorus and Band on November 20-22. In order to be selected for All-State, students must spend hours rehearsing their music before doing a live audition in October. Those students trying out are then rated, with the top vocalists and instrumentalists being invited to Lincoln for a three-day event. The students will spend most of their time in rehearsals on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning, in preparation for their final concerts on Saturday afternoon and evening at the Lied Center in Lincoln. The All-State Chorus and All-State Orchestra will perform at 4:30 pm; the All-State Band and All-State Jazz Band concert will follow at 7 pm.
