National Young Readers Day
"Books are a Treasure"
33 Kindergarten and First Graders had a day filled with reading and adventure on Wednesday, November 12.
The morning started with high school students from GINW, formerly students of St. Libory, reading to the elementary classes. Guest readers included: Hunter Prince, Daniel White, Katie Shafer and Parker Loghry.
Mid morning the young readers found themselves on a Treasure Hunt. Cleverly written clues were placed all around the school building. Each clue had to be read and solved until the students found the treasure chests filled with books and jewels.
To cap off the day 33 balloons were released outside. Attached to each balloon were cards with the school's name, one of the student's name and that students favorite book title. The students are hoping someone will find a balloon and contact the school with their name and favorite book title.
