If you want an application for any of the scholarships listed below, bring this list to the Counselors’ Office with your name at the top and a mark beside each application you want. We will get the application back to you to complete. Follow the instructions and most importantly, make sure you have the completed application either mailed or returned to the Counselors’ Office by the DEADLINE DATE. NO late applications will be accepted. THE SCHOLARSHIPS YOU HAVE TO APPLY FOR ON THE WEB YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MARK.

GARY FISHER FINE ARTS-must plan to major in fine arts in college. DEADLINE DATE: DECEMBER 14, 2009

NEBRASKA RURAL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION-must plan to enter the field of education, 3.5+ GPA, 22+ ACT score. DEADLINE DATE: DECEMBER 14, 2009

NEBRASKA ELK’S ASSOCIATION VOCATIONAL-must plan to attend a community college, trade school or technical school, judging will be based on motivation, financial need, skills, grades and test scores. DEADLINE DATE: DECEMBER 21, 2009

WASHINGTON CROSSING FOUNDATION-planning a career in government service. Apply at gwcf.org. DEADLINE DATE: JANUARY 15, 2010

EXCEL PHYSICAL THERAPY COLLEGE-3.5 + GPA, active involvement in a varsity sport or other school extra-curricular activity, planning to enroll in a four year college with the intention to major in a Physical Therapy course of study. DEADLINE DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 2010

UNK MULTICULTURALCOMMUNITY SERVICE-20+ ACT or rank in top ½ of class, recipients will be selected primarily on a demonstrated commitment to diversity/multiculturalism by leadership and participation in school and community activities. Must complete an UNK Admission Application and be admitted by February 1, 2010. DEADLINE DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 2010

UNO FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP-apply for admission and you will be eligible for most scholarships at UNO. DEADLINE DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 2010

KFC COLONEL’S SCHOLARS-financial need and entrepreneurial spirit, 2.75+ GPA. You must apply at www.kfcscholars.org. DEADLINE DATE: FEBRUARY 10, 2010

CHICK HEHNKE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL MEMORIAL-must be an active participant in the American Legion baseball program. DEADLINE DATE: FEBRUARY 19, 2010

GRAND ISLAND ENGINEERS CLUB-enroll in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering at SECC in Milford OR in an Engineering Field at UNL, UNO or UNK, 3.0+ GPA. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 1, 2010

JAMI HARPER COMMUNITY IMPACT-dedication to service of others, knowledge of what constitutes service, self-initiated service will be rated more highly but all volunteer service will be considered. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 1, 2010

NEBRASKA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, INC-must have an interest in one of the following areas: Geology, Earth Sciences, Prairie & Soil Conservation, Climate & Environmental Change, Business and the Environment OR Compassion for all organisms and humanity’s place in the universe. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 1, 2010

NEBRASKA PRESS ASSOCIATION FOUNDATION-must have a specific interest in news, editorial, photography, circulation, production, or advertising careers on weekly, semi-weekly, or daily newspapers. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 1, 2010

ST. LEO’S PARISH-must be a registered member of St. Leo’s Parish, scholarship designed to recognize a senior who has made a contribution of service to St. Leo’s Parish, their community and their school. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 1, 2010

SAMMY 2010 AWARD PROGRAM-a scholarship that recognizes outstanding scholar athletes. If you feel you qualify for this you may nominate yourself or someone else you feel fits this criteria. You need to apply online at sammy.bodybymilk.com DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 5, 2010

GRAND ISLAND SKETCH CLUB-must attend college or art institute to major in art, display art work at library. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 14, 2010

GRAND ISLAND CONCERT ASSOCIATION-planning to major or minor in Music Performance, Music Education, Music Therapy OR Technical Theater, must submit audition tape. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 15, 2010

NEBRASKA AVIATION TRADES ASSOCIATION-outstanding scholastic achievements, leadership, written essay “How Agricultural Aviation Helps Farmers & Consumers”. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 15, 2010

JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA-must have spent majority of elementary school at Jefferson. DEADLINE DATE: MARCH 17, 2010

CENTRAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE-DAVIS CHAMBERS-scholarship established to recognize academically promising students from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, must plan to be a full-time student at Central Community College during the 2010-2011 academic year and plan to transfer to a four-year NE college or university after graduating from CCC. DEADLINE DATE: APRIL 1, 2010

OTHER INFORMATION
The University of Wyoming offers a Nebraska Good Neighbor Scholarship Program which means you can attend The University of Wyoming at nearly half the tuition cost. See Mardy in the Counselors’ Office if you are interested.
