In order to be considered for student council, students must submit an essay explaining what contributions they would make as a member. The essays of those students vying for a seat on this year’s council were outstanding, indicating every student had put real thought into their application.

The student council has been very active in past years. Projects have included a fall canned-food drive for the Salvation Army, schoolyard and roadside cleanups, and numerous fundraisers, including the popular "pie a student council member," benefiting the Make A Wish foundation. Mr. Brian Sybrandts is the sponsor.
