Another Successful Eighth Grade Orientation
On Monday, February 1, Northwest High School hosted "Eighth Grade Orientation" for prospective students. Approximately 145 students along with their parents participated in the evening's activities. During the course of the evening, the students and parents listened to presentations from administrators and counselors, explaining all the available course offerings and activity programs that Northwest has to offer. Students and parents then had an opportunity to tour the building and view the displays that were set up in the new gymnasium.
Curriculum Coordinator Jane Brown commented, "Orientation Night is an important evening for students and parents to meet staff members, coaches, and counselors as they prepare to transition to 9th grade. The evening helps them to learn more about course offerings and activities so they can make the decisions that will shape the next four years."
Drawings were held throughout the evening for t-shirts, Viking apparel, and other activity-related items.
