Spirit Week Kicks Off

March 1-5

1-R Spirit Week got off to a rousing start with students dressing up as their favorite sports star or in their favorite sports gear. Later in the day, a pep rally was held for the boys’ basketball team and cheerleaders. During the pep rally, the student council held a “Pie a Student Council Member” event, which raised money for the Make A Wish Foundation. Thank you to Mr. Sybrandts and the student council for the fun and the contribution to children in need!

Homerooms were assigned various colors to wear on Wednesday. Those colors were: Kindergarten-red; First-blue; Second-green; Third-pink; Fourth-yellow; Fifth-gray; Sixth-black; Seventh-purple; and Eighth-orange.

The Old West returned to the halls of 1-R on Thursday, with guys and gals sportin' Stetsons, chaps, boots and spurs during spirit week's Cowboy-Cowgirl Day. As you will see in the pictures, a few misguided individuals thought it was "Dallas" Cowboy Day!
