NW Educational Foundation

Mission The mission of the Northwest Educational Foundation is to develop, maintain, and promote programs, scholarships, and projects that enrich the opportunities for students of the Northwest Public Schools. |
The Northwest Educational Foundation is the tax-exempt organization that supports and accepts gifts to benefit the Northwest Public Schools. Founded in 1992, it is the Foundation's goal to help provide additional opportunities for our district's students and teachers, as well as the district as a whole. Programs and projects that the Northwest Educational Foundation supports include college scholarships, alumni relations, the Leave a Legacy Brick wall, the Classroom Mini-Grant Program, and various fundraising projects. The Foundation is volunteer-run by a board made up of alumni, staff, and supporters of Northwest.
Each fall, the Northwest Educational Foundation awards $500 Mini-Grants to fund outstanding classroom projects, which are not have been possible without the support of the Foundation and the gracious giving of Northwest staff and supporters.
Each spring, the Northwest Educational Foundation presents four $500 scholarships to the Northwest High School graduating class. Recipients must have good attendance, model a positive attitude, demonstrate involvement in Northwest, community, and church activities, and provide a recommendation from one Northwest teacher and one adult from the community. The Foundation Board is very appreciative of the continued support of our Northwest Alumni and the Northwest Community, who allow us to continue presenting these scholarships!
We know there are countless choices for people to direct their charitable gifts. Twelve years ago, there were 1.1 million public charities, private foundations, and other non-profit organizations in the United States. Today, that number is beyond 1.5 million. You may be asking yourself, "Why give to the Northwest Educational Foundation?" Simply put, the Northwest Educational Foundation provides a critical margin of support during a struggling economy and a decline in government funding to schools and education.
The Northwest Educational Foundation appreciates your support. We hope we can count on your continued financial gifts for our work on behalf of our alumni, teachers, students and projects that help make Northwest Public Schools the best in the state. If you have not already done so, consider purchasing a Viking Legacy Brick for $50. Or, consider giving a gift of $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever your Viking heart feels moved to give. Your tax-deductible gift can be sent to the Northwest Educational Foundation, 2710 N. North Road, Grand Island, NE 68803.
Whatever your reason for giving, rest assured that your gift to the Northwest Educational Foundation matters because every gift makes a direct and immediate impact on both the current and future students of the entire Northwest district. The Northwest Educational Foundation is very grateful for the enthusiastic financial support it receives from the Northwest community and alumni! It is because of your generosity that the Foundation is able to continue our Mission: “To develop, maintain, and promote programs, scholarships, and projects that enrich the opportunities for students of the Northwest Public Schools.” Help us educate tomorrow's leaders by giving today!
