One R K-8 Parents,

Thank you for all your support during the fourth quarter in this unprecedented time. We could not have done this without your efforts. At this time I would like to share end of school year information.

ALL Online Instruction ends on Friday, May 15th.

Instructional activities will be collected through May 15th. There will be no Zoom sessions or activities expected the following week (Monday, May 18 – 21, 2020). There will be NO 4th Quarter Report Grades. All students will move on to next grade level. 

Curbside Pickup Tuesday, May 19 from 12-7p.m. 

We will be sending home; school materials, end of the year certificates, Yearbooks if we have received payment for your order, any student clothing, medications etc, so please make plans to come during this time.  

– Please enter the North driveway. Parents will inform a staff member at the gate of who they are picking items up for. Those students’ items will be brought from the GYM doors and placed on table by the driveway  The parent will then pick up the items off the table, and leave any school items (library books, guided reading books etc..) that need to be left at the school. This will be your chance to pick up your child’s materials. Social distancing, gloves, and masks will be used by school employees. 

– There will also be a retirement card drop box in honor of Mrs. Dotlon at the end of the driveway. If you or your child would like to leave a card or thank you note for her years of service.

Chromebooks and Ipads: 

At this time we have decided to allow students who are returning to a Northwest School (St. Libory, 1R, Cedar Hollow or Northwest High) next Fall to keep their device over the summer. We will expect it to return when school starts next Fall.  Students who are leaving the District to attend another school must return their device and charger on Tuesday, May 19. Eighth graders will return their chromebook and charger during Freshman Orientation next Fall to Northwest High School. 

Band Instruments:

Information pertaining to our 5th – 8th grade band students will come from Mr. Meyer, our band instructor. He is working with Mr. Pfanstiel and they will be collecting instruments at Northwest High school. Please contact Mr. Meyer with questions. tmeyer@ginorthwest.org 

Last Day Drive Through Celebration Wednesday, May 20 6:30-7p.m

We would like to close out the year with a One R drive through. Please enter North gates and drive through, honking, waving, cheering etc…. Teachers will line the driveway to share summer time good-byes. We will also have a retirement card drop box for Mrs. Dolton at the end. Students may drop a card or note off. Again, we will practice social distancing. NO one is to get out of their cars, stop for high fives, or enter the building. It will just be a great way to see everyone’s smiling face one last time and close out the 19/20 school year!!
