July 8, 2020 COVID-19 Update
July 8, 2020
Dear NWPS Parents/Guardians,
Many districts across the state of Nebraska have started to share out their back to school re-opening plans. What we have learned throughout the COVID–1 9 experience is that information about the virus changes constantly. It is difficult to determine at the start of July what exactly school will look like when we open. Northwest Public Schools WILL be in session on Thursday, August 13th as originally scheduled.
Over the coming weeks, we will continue to monitor and analyze details of COVID-19 and any potential restrictions, guidelines or recommendations that will be in place to start school. Additional information in regard to the opening of the 2020-2021 school year on Thursday, August 13th will be provided on Thursday, July 30th which is 2-weeks prior to the start of school.
It is everyone’s desire to return to normal as soon as possible as the unknown and change of daily lives have had different effects on each household. We will continue to work with our local health department and the Nebraska Department of Education to ensure we are keeping safety at the forefront of our decision–making . Thank you for your patience and continued understanding as we work through these next few weeks.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey E. Edwards, Ed.D
Superintendent
