Driver’s ED program is now being taught through the Nebraska Safety Center at UNK.  Registrations will be accepted via fax, mail and online.  No telephone registrations will be accepted. REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.  All payments (except online), must be sent to the Nebraska Safety Center.  Cost is $330.  A deposit of $165 is due at the time of registration with the remaining balance due two weeks prior to the course start date. You may register and pay online at:  www.unk.edu/dred (scroll down to Grand Island Northwest Driver Education)

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Classes which do not meet the minimum enrollment are subject to cancellation.  Classes require a minimum enrollment of 8 students and are limited to a maximum of 24 students.  Each student is required by the Nebraska DMV to have a valid permit in order to enroll in this course.

Classes will be held at Northwest High School. Behind-the-wheel drive times are scheduled with the instructor at  mutually convenient times and will be completed as quickly as possible.  Range and simulation will be held at the Nebraska Safety Center in Kearney.  Transportation to Kearney will be provided by the Nebraska Safety Center.
