2025 / 2026 Middle School Sports Information

Thanks for visiting our Middle School sports page.  Below, you will find important information about the athletic opportunities available to our kids.  We are excited about providing these opportunities for our students and hope you encourage their participation. 

Again, this year our kids will compete ‘as one’ (Northwest MS) in both 7th and 8th grade. Please refer to the information below about coaches, practice dates, and possible parent meetings. 

Sports Physicals:  

All participants must have documentation of a completed and signed sports physical by a doctor before they can practice or play.  These must be on file in the Athletic Director’s office at the High School. 

Schedules:

Schedules can be found under the ‘calendar’ tab on the homepage or under each school’s webpage!  

Transportation:

• All athletes will be transported from their school to practice daily.  
• Parents are asked to pick their children up at the end of each practice session.  
• On game days, athletes will be transported to the game site and back to the Northwest High School parking lot, where parents are asked to pick them up. (Example sites out of town may be – Aurora, C.C. Wood River, St. Paul, York, etc.) 
• For games played INSIDE GRAND ISLAND, parents are asked to pick them up from that site. ( Example sites would be – GICC, Westridge, Walnut, Barr., Trinity, etc.) 
• Students may ride home with their parents, but must fill out and complete the transportation home sign-out sheet. 

Fall Sports offered:

Football 

• All practices and home games will be held at NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL.

• Practices WILL BE held on Wednesdays at Northwest High School. 

Volleyball

7th Grade Volleyball 

• All practices will be held at 1R, and home games will be held at CEDAR HOLLOW.

8th Grade Volleyball

Cross Country

• All practices will be held at NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL.
