Note From The Principal- April 2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The One R Introduction to Kindergarten Night will be held on Tuesday, April 14th at 6:30 PM. We are currently identifying incoming Kindergarten students for the 2026–27 school year. If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before July 31, 2026, they are eligible to attend. Please call the office at (308) 385-6352 so we can add your child to our list and begin sharing important information.

As part of an update to our visitor management system, this is a reminder that all visitors—including lunch guests and volunteers—must check in at the office using the kiosk and present a valid, non-expired, government-issued photo ID.

We are excited for upcoming music events! Mrs. Liberty will host the K–5 Spring Music Concert on Monday, May 4th at 6:30 PM, and Mr. Meyer will host the district-wide 5–8 Band Concert on Thursday, May 14th at 6:30 PM. Both events will take place at the Northwest Auditorium.

Online registration for the 2026–27 school year will open April 1st for current/returning 1R Kindergarten through 7th grade students. All returning families will receive email communication with specific information on the registration process. New families and incoming Kindergarten students may begin registering on Wednesday, April 15th once option is confirmed. This will also be communicated via email closer to that date.

The 2025–26 Yearbook order form is now open and will close on Friday, April 15th. An email with the order link and payment information was sent to parents on 3/30/26.The cost of each yearbook is $15.00. Please contact Mrs. Bachle with any questions in the office. 308-385-6352

Academically, students continue to work hard as we approach the end of the school year. Students in grades 3–8 will be completing NSCAS state assessments in English Language Arts and Math, with 5th and 8th graders also taking Science. Our K–2 students will demonstrate their growth through end-of-year DIBELS and Math MAP assessments. We encourage all students to do their best, and remind families that good sleep, a healthy breakfast, and consistent attendance play an important role in student success.

Spring activities are getting underway, including middle school track, soccer, and trap shooting. Please check the 1R Google Calendar and website for updates and event schedules. We wish all of our teams the best of luck this season!

Our PTO had a busy and successful month—thank you to everyone who supported the Breakfast Buddies event. It was a busy night at IHOP! There will be a PTO Dine out night at Chipotle on Tuesday, April 14th 4-8pm, and at Culvers on Tuesday, May 5th 4-8pm.  Flower fundraiser orders are due April 7th, with delivery scheduled for May 7th from  2:30-3:45 PM. The next PTO meeting will be Monday, April 13th at 6:00 PM, and they are currently accepting nominations for board positions for the 2026–27 school year.
