Hello students, parents, and stakeholders.

It seems like school just got out, but here we are at the end of July already.  I hope you all had a fantastic summer and spent good time with your family and friends.  We are excited to get the new school year rolling and I am looking forward to seeing all the students real soon.

I want to give you some important dates to look forward to as the new school year begins.  For starters, we are going to have a beginning of the year parent meeting on August 10 at 6 PM in the high school auditorium.  This will give us an opportunity to go over items that we feel are important for you to know!  I hope to see you all there.

Here are other dates to keep in mind:

  • August 4 – Marching band exhibition on the football field (6:30 PM)
  • August 9 – Freshmen orientation (half day)
  • August 10 – First day of school for everyone
  • August 14 – school picture day (your student will bring home a form with a link on the back to purchase pictures)
  • August 17 – 20 – school musical

I also want to inform you that we will have a new App that is out that you can download on your phone!  Search Northwest Vikings.  It is very interactive and this will be your one stop shop for everything you need.  You can see the activity schedule, click on certain schedules you want to follow, sign up for the booster club, have a direct link to STRIV, purchase merchandise, and much more!  Students will also be able to earn points (by attending events) which, could in turn, lead to winning prizes!  Download the app now!

Finally, don’t forget to pay your necessary fees for your student.  This includes a chromebook fee, depositing money in the lunch account, and paying for fees if your student is in a sport or activity.  You can pay online or stop in to the school to get this taken care of.

I look forward to seeing the students soon and I can’t wait for another great school year!

It’s a great day to be a Viking!
