Meal Service and Requirements
The USDA requires that all schools participating in the food program follow guidelines for types and amounts of foods offered. Students are required by federal regulation to select either a minimum of ½ cup fruit or vegetable for a meal to be considered reimbursable. The USDA considers a complete lunch to have three of the five food groups- bread/grain, meat/protein, fruit, vegetable or milk with one of the three food groups being ½ cup fruit or vegetable. These food groups are offered to each student in the lunch line.
The district uses a computerized meal system to record and deduct payments for meals. Each student has a lunch I.D. number to use in the lunch line for this purpose.
Please contact Robyn about food service questions including special dietary needs.
