Cedar Hollow End of Year Information

Cedar Hollow End of Year Information

K-8 Parents,

Thank you for continuing to work as a partner with us during this time to finish the academic year.  We appreciate the sacrifices you have made and the “teachers” you have become during this online learning phase.  The last online class will be this Friday, May 15.

If your child is returning to Cedar Hollow, or going to Northwest as a freshman next year, then your child may keep their device (Ipad or Chromebook) over the summer.  If you are leaving Cedar Hollow for another school district, please return your device on Tuesday, May 19, from 12-7 pm.  Please know that your child continues to be responsible for their device.

This same time frame, Tuesday, May 19, from 12-7 pm, will be used for parents to pick up any items from school.  This will include: yearbooks, school supplies, medications, certificates of achievement, clothing, etc…   This process will be as follows:  Parents will inform a school employee at the gate who they are picking up items for.  Those students’ items will be brought to a table in front of school.  The parent will then pick up the items off the table, and leave any items (library books, etc..) that need to be left at the school.  Social distancing, gloves, and masks will be used by school employees.  This will be your chance to pick up your child’s materials, including yearbooks, so please make plans to come during this time.

Information pertaining to our 5th – 8th grade band students will come from Mr. Meyer, our band instructor. He is working with Mr. Pfanstiel, the high school band teacher, and they will be collecting instruments at Northwest High School. Please contact Mr. Meyer with questions. tmeyer@ginorthwest.org

We would like to close out the year with a Cedar Hollow drive through celebration! This will occur at Cedar Hollow on Wednesday, May 20, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Please enter North gates and drive through, honking, waving, cheering etc…. Staff will line the drive route to share summer good-byes. We will also have a retirement card drop box for Mrs. Larsen at the end. Students may drop a card or note off for her, Miss Murphy, who is also leaving, or any other staff member.  Again, we will practice social distancing. NO one is to get out of their cars, stop for high fives, or enter the building. It will just be a great way to see everyone’s smiling face one last time and close out the 19/20 school year!!

Dr. Edwards will share more details during a LIVE Facebook district message on Thursday, May 14. Please look for link on district and building websites. Note: You do not need a Facebook account to view this event.

There will be NO 4th Quarter grades, therefore no report cards will be sent out.  All students will move on to next grade level, unless already contacted.

Thank you again for all your support this Spring!

Mr. Mazour
